Founded in 1946 in Japan, HI-LEX boasts a rich history of experience and innovation. From the adoption of the most advanced technologies to continuous research and development activities, the renowned Japanese multinational specializing in the production of window regulators and control cables for the automotive sector has, in recent years, decided to invest in digitalization projects with the aim of improving production processes within its plants. <\/p>

The company decided to implement AWM for workforce planning in its production plants, with the aim of digitalizing shop-floor staff scheduling activities.<\/p>

The investment in AWM fits into a broader process of improvement of production processes and systems. Before awm, team leaders had to rely on manually written information to assign workers to the different workstations. In addition, integrating paper-based spreadsheets with information coming from whiteboards was a complex challenge that often required more time than necessary. This made planning extremely complicated and time-consuming, and team leaders were not always able to cross-check all the available information. <\/p>

\u201cIt therefore became necessary to have a workforce management system that would not only optimize staff scheduling, but also enable daily challenges to be addressed more efficiently,\u201d explains Eros Quarantelli, HR Manager at HI-LEX Italy.<\/p>

With awm, it was possible to digitalize all the information that had previously been written manually or recorded in spreadsheets, from mapping employees\u2019 skills, to assigning them to production lines, to monitoring absences and medical check-ups.<\/p>

Thanks to the implementation of awm, HI-LEX was able not only to save valuable time that had previously been spent on internal communications between teams\u2014through emails and phone calls across different departments to obtain information on managing unforeseen events such as absences, delays, or illness\u2014but also to significantly simplify planning activities and the monitoring of operations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Giorgio Sgrignani, Plant Manager at HI-LEX Italy, highlights how awm has enabled the company to ensure a more efficient and effective organization process, as well as improved mapping of workstations and employees.<\/p>

In addition to data-driven planning, the software also enables fast and automated management of all unexpected events, monitoring unplanned incidents that could cause production slowdowns. This helps ensure production continuity, avoiding delays or disruptions on the production lines. <\/p>

One of the most appreciated aspects of the project was the ability to work with a digital tool without having to change the company\u2019s established practices,\u201d says Eros Quarantelli.In fact, awm integrates seamlessly with other software systems, such as the existing HR Suite, enabling more efficient and centralized management of all the information required for workforce planning\u2014from skills and constraints to availability. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
