What is the difference between a skills matrix in Excel and skills matrix software?
Excel is a static snapshot that must be updated manually and quickly becomes outdated.

How is the awm suite skill matrix updated automatically?
Every task performed and every time stamp contributes to the employee’s profile: skills that are actually used are reinforced, while those that are no longer used are flagged. The matrix remains aligned with the department’s actual situation without requiring manual updates.
Does the skills matrix help with pay transparency?
Yes, as a data asset: it provides an objective and traceable record of skills and their progression, which is useful for justifying differences in job classification based on the neutral criteria required by EU Directive 2023/970. It does not replace job evaluation or legal advice.
Does it handle certification and deadlines?
Yes: Each authorization has a validity period; the system alerts users to expiration dates and prevents assignments to workstations for which the person is no longer authorized.
